Summary:

Emotional intelligence is a method of recognising, understanding, and controlling how we think, feel, and act. It has an impact on how we connect with others as well as how we perceive ourselves. It governs how and what we learn; it permits us to set priorities; and it influences the majority of our everyday activities.

Schools have an important role in supporting students’ mental health and well-being. Children and adolescents spend a large amount of time at school during a vital phase in their personality and social-emotional development.

For this reason, the SEED project aims to provide primary school teachers with the most appropriate resources to improve the mental well-being of young primary school students through the use of modern, targeted EE and EI activities and practices, which are also linked to the European Framework “LifeComp”.

Objectives

The project’s objectives are:

  • Develop a technique for emotional education tailored to primary school needs.
  • Developed a training course for teachers to apply emotional intelligence in their classrooms.
  • Create an open online platform for training teachers in emotional intelligence.

Results

  • Methodological Guide and Good Practices: It aims to develop a comprehensive methodological guide that focuses on the application of emotional intelligence in the education sector, specifically targeting primary schools.
  • Training Plan for Teachers: It is dedicated to the creation and implementation of a structured training plan for teachers. The goal is to ensure that educators not only gain a theoretical understanding of emotional education concepts but also acquire the practical skills needed to effectively integrate them into their lessons.
  • Creation of the Online Platform: It involves the development of an online platform to support teachers in implementing the content provided in Work Packages 2 and 3. The platform will serve as a centralized hub, offering resources, tools, and materials related to emotional intelligence in the education sector. It will provide access to the methodological guide from Work Package 2, the training materials from Work Package 3, and additional free online resources.
