The International Organisation for Migration (IOM) has laid out valuable recommendations for fostering social integration between migrants and their new communities through various social mixing activities. Our #EasmusPlus project, #IncludeME, is here to support youth workers in implementing these activities effectively!
Key Recommendations:
- Pleasurable & Goal-Oriented Activities: Think mentorship, film screenings, arts, sports, and community volunteering.
- Promote Equality & Cultural Appreciation: Create spaces where diversity is celebrated and shared ownership is encouraged.
- Facilitate Guided Reflection: Ensure activities support deep, meaningful interactions.
- Address Obstacles: Identify and overcome barriers to active participation.
- Monitor & Evaluate: Continuously improve your programs with robust evaluation methods.
