About the Project

BluSustAIn is an Erasmus+ Cooperation Partnership that aims to strengthen the digital and green skills of vocational education and training learners, trainers, professionals, and SMEs operating in the Blue Economy.

The project responds to the growing need for professionals who can use Artificial Intelligence responsibly and effectively to improve sustainability, resource efficiency, environmental monitoring, and operational performance in sectors such as maritime transport, aquaculture, coastal tourism, port activities, and marine renewable energy.

Through practical, sector-specific digital resources, BluSustAIn will connect vocational education with the evolving skills needs of the European Blue Economy and support its green and digital transition.

Project Objectives

BluSustAIn aims to:

  • Equip VET learners, trainers, professionals, and SMEs with AI skills for sustainability in the Blue Economy.
  • Develop innovative, practice-oriented training resources and personalised learning pathways.
  • Align VET education with the evolving skills needs of the Blue Economy labour market.
  • Promote the responsible use of Artificial Intelligence and the long-term adoption of the project's results.

Target group

BluSustAIn targets:

  • VET learners, trainers, and education providers.
  • Professionals and SMEs operating in the Blue Economy.
  • Individuals seeking to develop AI and sustainability skills.
  • Stakeholders supporting vocational education, innovation, and the green and digital transition.

Results

BluSustAIn will deliver:

  • A micro-credential-based VET curriculum on AI for Sustainability in the Blue Economy
  • Innovative multilingual learning resources
  • An open Digital Training Hub with practical resources
