At the end of May, teachers from Viļaka Secondary School Līga Leitena and Ija Krylova went on a visit to the international Erasmus+ project SEED (“School Emotional Education: The Right Practical Way for Teachers to Teach Emotional Education in Primary School”), which took place in the city of Izmit, Turkey.
During the visit, the project partners evaluated the activities completed so far – the developed teacher’s guide, the piloting process of activities that teachers and students implemented in their schools from April to May and summarized the results, as well as planned future activities.
Emotional intelligence is an essential part of a child’s personality development. It helps to acquire skills that allow them to understand, manage and express their emotions, as well as successfully navigate the social environment. Emotional education promotes positive relationships, strengthens mental health, improves academic achievements, promotes constructive conflict resolution, increases self-confidence and creates the foundation for a successful future.
