Project description
Blue jobs through blue careers (technical partner). EMFAF-2023-BlueCareers Project Number: 101124841. Europe’s coasts and seas have the potential to generate growth and employment in the future. To achieve this Blue Growth, highly qualified and skilled professionals are needed, and this is what BOUTCAR wants to generate. Specific objectives of the project are:
- Develop a training pathway for young people and adults who want to engage in blue economy by providing them with contents, skills and competences necessary to get attractive and sustainable jobs.
- Develop competences and skills needed to support EU Green Deal initiatives promoting sustainable blue economy.
- Develop opportunities for fishermen through professional qualification and skills development to operate in the different contexts of offshore wind areas
- Create strong collaborative networks at EU level between professional organisations and educational institutions to offer attractive and sustainable jobs
- Raising awareness and attractiveness of “blue careers” among students and young professionals, to attract and retain new talents and counteract the depletion of human capital due to ageing workforce.
Target groups
The target groups are young students who will make up the next generation of workers, but also people who are already working in the sector and who wish to supplement their knowledge with training adapted to the modern social and environmental standards and entrepreneurs of the blue economy sector.
