Project description:
The OSCAR project is driven by the pressing need to tackle the issue of Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE), particularly the low collection rates of small WEEE like mobile phones, tablets, and laptops. Moreover, OSCAR is in line with the European Commission’s Circular Economy Action Plan, which emphasizes the importance of reducing electronic and electrical waste. Essentially, OSCAR addresses urgent environmental challenges in e-waste management while also supporting the European Union’s broader objectives of promoting a circular economy, minimizing ecological footprints, and fostering economic growth.
Target groups
The OSCAR project targets three primary groups to promote sustainable behaviors in Electrical and Electronic Equipment (EEE):
- Youth Trainers
- Youth with Fewer Opportunities
- Organizations Focused on Youth and Sustainability
Results
The tangible outcomes envisioned by OSCAR include:
- Training Resources: OSCAR will develop a comprehensive curriculum for e-waste training courses, equipped with engaging materials designed to inspire youths to responsibly manage e-waste.
- Open ‘e-Waste Management’ Digital Training Hub: A dynamic online platform will serve as an open resource hub, offering content in multiple languages to empower and educate youth on sustainable practices for handling EEE waste.
- Youth e-Waste Dissemination Campaign: OSCAR’s dissemination campaign will employ a comprehensive and strategic approach, effectively reaching and engaging the project’s target groups.
